Emails

1. When you join you will receive emails about items that are Wanted and Offered within a radius of where you live. Please find out about membership
2. If you use an email verification service please read our FAQ about email verification services before joining.

3. When you register you should make sure that emails we send you do not go to your Junk folder.  Please make sure that EcoBees.com is in your allowed email list or your address book.

4. We send your email address only to members that you have accepted for your Ads so they can contact you to arrange collection or to a member when you request their Ad.

Address

Firstly, let us tell you now that your address is safe, private and never displayed to anybody!!  Please read the next few paragraphs and we'll tell you why we need it and how we use it.

1. The reason we ask for your address is so that we can tell you how far away Ads are from you.  This helps you to make an informed decision about whether to ask for items or to give your items to members who may live too far away.

2. We only show your location(not your address) on a map if you have an Ad on the system, and only to other members, maps are not available to non-members.

3. When you accept somebody for an Ad you have posted, you will send them an accept email.  This email is to tell the person where you live and when is convenient to arrange collection.  To help you, we will add your address to this email, but you can override and delete it if you wish to before sending it!

UK MEMBERS PLEASE, PLEASE enter your postcode correctly with a space in the right place, as this causes problems when we try to geolocate your address. Thank you.

Security & Privacy

1. Be aware that your chosen username is viewable online by anybody(not your details! just username) so think carefully if you choose to use your real name!

2. If you are using a public or shared computer, please make sure you log out to protect your information.  If you are using your own computer you do not need to log out, we will know that you are still logged in to save you from logging in every time you visit the site.

3. We will NEVER give or sell your address nor any of your details to anybody unless legally obliged to.

   Your username will be publicly available and will be searchable by online search engines. Please bear this in mind if you use your email address or real name as your username.

Countries

Unfortunately there are some countries that we can not allow you to register from.  The only reason that these countries cannot be allowed is because there is no automatic geolocation when people join.  If we cannot find a web service like Google or Yahoo that can automatically locate an address then we cannot offer the ability to give distances and show where Ads and members are.  The main purpose of EcoBees is to give distance and location of Ads and this is not possible in those countries that aren't listed.

We do keep up to date as much as we can and it's possible that other countries will be added when geolocation services are available.
