Ads by email

EcoBees are proud to announce our new Ads by email service. This means you can email us your Ads as well as creating your Ads online.

How does it work?

Firstly and most importantly, so that we can validate that you are a member and to match the email to your membership you must send an email from the same email address that you use for EcoBees. You can see what this is or change it using the 'My information' link. Then simply…

  1. Send your email to ""
  2. The email subject line becomes the title of your Ad. You don't need to put "Offered", just the title of your Ad. e.g. "36 inch flatscreen tv"
  3. The email body becomes the body of your Ad. You might want to get rid of any email signatures you usually have.
  4. Click send!

Is that it?

Yes that's all it takes. By using the same email address as your EcoBees membership we can match the email to your account, so you don't need to be signed in to EcoBees. We'll add the categories for you and if you have any cross posting details such as Freecycle or Freegle on your membership details, we'll send to them as well. You can read more about posting to your Freecycle or Freegle group.

Twitter and Facebook

Due to authentication by Twitter and Facebook we cannot post your Ads to your Twitter feed or your Facebook wall. This is a restriction imposed by Facebook and Twitter and is for your security.

Photos?

Currently we aren't able to accept pictures of your items by email, but we hope to at some point in the future. If you want to post pictures with your Ads you'll have to create your Ads online using the 'Create Ad' menu link once you've joined EcoBees or signed in.

The Future

After proving that this service is working, we want to accept photos and possibly roll this to wanted Ads too.
